DIR-655 works well via XP, but from Win7 many admin options are not available...such as logs, statistics, and more. I'm sure this has come up in the past, but I didn't see anything on a quick search.
-
are you logging in as admin to the router on Win7?
Try a different broswers like Opera, FF or Flock?
I have 7x64 and use Opera

Yes, logging in as admin on both OS's. I would assume some side-effect of IE9, but... I really don't want to pollute my sister-in-law's PC with another browser ( nor explain to her why/when to use each ). Her DIR-655 is behind in firmware, but trying to isolate where the issue is before doing anything rash.
EDIT: I tried compatibility mode in IE9...that seems to be the simple answer.

OK, sounds like you found the fix.
And if the router is working then it's not necessary to update FW. I recommend running the router as is until such time that FW update is really need. ;)

I totally agree..."if it ain't broke, don't fix it" ...especially when it isn't mine <g>

Hmm, I would say IE is the pollutant but thats just me. :-) Besides, most browsers are stand alone. Your computer though, your rules. Just a comment.
I think the bug was with the log in screen. Enter was sapposed to just press the login button. Instead the browser was inserting a carriage return into the login and then sending the enter command. Just my theory.

All the browsers have their pros/cons...a religious debate <g> The login was not the issue...just a display thing for certain things ( like Logs )...a switch to compatibility mode on that web page was all it took.

Win 7 pro 64, IE9 without any compatibility, works fine logging into router and all other functions within the GUI of the router.
-
Can you read the log ? ...that is the most obvious test.
-
Everything works as it should.
Even with IE9 beta all was well.

Then it must also depend on firmware rev...A2 v1.11 certainly has the issue from multiple Win7 machines ( 32 & 64 ).
