Windows Home Server
« on: December 29, 2008, 08:33:02 PM »

I would be very grateful if someone could help me

I have an HP media smart server running Windows Home Server.  My router is the DIR-130.
I am trying to configure remote access, which requires configuring the router to allow connections.  The instructions say to forward http, https, and remote desktop (TCP ports 80, 443, and 4125)

I have done this but the remote desktop still does not work and when I tell it to test the connections it says that the router is not accepting web site connections and the router is not accepting remote access connections.

Thank you very much

Hi,

I understand that you are trying to access the computer remotely from internet. For this you need to open the port 3389 on the router for the server ip address. Also you need to create exceptions on the severs firewall.
