DGS-1100-08 how to segregate private and tenant network
« on: July 27, 2019, 02:56:13 AM »

Hi there
I want to share my internet connection with my tenant, but want to segregate our networks as much as possible, to prevent insight/hacking/pishing into my private network from/via his network.
The tenant apartment have two ethernet socket outlets that are wired to my "technical room" where the modem/router and switch is located. One of the sockets will be connected to separate wifi access point, so tenant will not be connected to my private wifi.
I have purchased a Dlink DGS-1100-08 smart switch, and belive (hope...) network segregation can be made using multiple VLANs, "isolating" two ports for his network - allowing him internet access, but preventing him (and others) to enter my ports / network
I have searched forums, youtube, etc. for how to do this - but haven't found this specific "problem" described.

Can anyone guide me how to achieve this? (if possible at all)

Thankful for all assistance

Review the user manual for information regarding this.
