Is this router still worth buying
« on: June 21, 2017, 06:38:58 PM »

Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a new router. I have 300mb Spectrum connection. I have lots of devices in the house--tablets, phones, tvs, roku's, etc.

I know this router is a couple of years ago, but it seems like I see fewer complaints about it than some others. Would you folks still recommend buying this router? You can find for for under $200 now.

Anyone think MU-MIMO is important enough to look at something else? I would appreciate any advice.

I'm enjoying my 890L, v1.10 FW. Using it as a wired AP currently behind a different router.
All my devices connect well to it and maintain connection. 3 Cameras, 3 Laptops, iPhones and a iPad. All other devices are wired.

I've had my 890 for almost a year and it has been a solid router. Other than my previous posts about adding both static IP and dynamic IP devices to the router's list, I've had no connection problems with all of my devices, mostly Apple (older and newer).

I did end up purchasing this router. Got it set up with no issues. Then my modem kept rebooting periodically. I have an Arris modem with 300mb service from Spectrum. Spectrum tech came by today and supposedly fixed the issue which he identified as a signal spiking issue at the tap on the outside of my house. I don't know...I hope he's right.

At any rate, the router has been good so far. No complaints about it.Yet.
