Timeouts around 5:00 minutes on phone via WiFi
« on: July 28, 2013, 07:23:43 AM »

This is strange - dcs 2132l - My old galaxy tab 10.1 connected wireless 5Ghz, pulls down around 15fps, 270kbps.  It's a dual core.  I'm using the older mydlink app v2.5.1

My single core htc evo android 2.3 via WiFi (not 5ghz) pulls about half 7fps, and appears to time out in 5 minutes. My dlinklite app v3.0.3
My new Galaxy S4 android 4.2 quad core 1.9 Ghz on my wireless network 5ghz, pulls about 7 fps too @ 121kbps.. which is odd. My dlinklite app v3.0.3 .. On 4G LTE - more volatile - 5-7fps 50-120 kbps.

And to keep it ridiculous, my old HTC Hero android 2.1 single core 400 mhz on 2.4ghz wifi - is still playing after 10 minutes  at 5 fps with 96kbps without interruption.  This is using v2.5.1. On 3G I get about 3.4-5fps at 66-100kbps,

So this has me very afraid to upgrade my galaxy tab 10.1 to v3 of the application since it kicks you out after 5 minutes??!

On my local wifi - There is no penalty for streaming all day and it costs no one anything.

Going through the browser is just to slow.

I ran some speed tests on my android systems today..

My galaxy s4 is leaps and bounds above my tablet..
My only conclusion is the v3 of mydlink lite app is that it is pathetic ..previous version is faster.

Hands down.

Play around with your video settings and open ports, right now over wifi through my isp I'm hitting 1mbit bitrate on each camera and around 15 to 30 fps.

Just to be clear; if your using mydlink lite even on wifi your using bandwidth from your ISP.

640x360 "HD" 15.5 /260kbps tonight... double last night...

Well, it's my home internet... But thanks, I guess I did forget about little tidbit.

The mjpeg page appeared slower with lots of lost frames compared to going directly into the firmware.

I can't get that damn Dview mobile cam to work for the life of me.
Latest version had some crappy instructions, but doesn't say what needs turned on or what cameras it works on.

The other crappy thing is viewing the bright browser bar (compared to my dark image) across the screen.. blinding when viewing directly thru IP in F/W.

Dview mobile cam is for NVR?

Server address 192.x.x.x etc
Live streaming port 5150
Playback port 5160

Well it did work when I set it up but failed to connect right now, logged into NVR right now might be why.

@sim

I've read that hear before - but tonight, I logged into my router and watching the "traffic manager".

The internet traffic did not spike or move much at all, but the 2.4 GHZ did (camera was sending data), and my 5GHZ network did (as it was sending to my Galaxy Tab 10.1) for the mydlink lite app.

I am seeing wired traffic that matches the viewing, but nothing on the internet traffic.

Daily totals are a little all over the place. I'm not sure if it is totaling internet or all other types of traffic.

I'm going to play around with this some more tomorrow and hit mydlink lite from 4g and 3g network, and hopefully internet will spike, and then when I connect to router, internet should look like this test tonight on my network.
