Trying for hours to setup DDNS...
« on: January 03, 2017, 05:10:40 PM »

Hi @ all,

I tried dyndns and Dlinkddns. Both settings are fine and I can log in the web account and use it on another router, but the dir 655 just refuses to update the IP. there must be something wrong with the updater in the latest firmware. I have 1.37EU and I am totally confused. It works fine on an asus router, but here on the DLINK. no chance!

does anybody have an idea? any help is highly appreciated.
thanks in advance!

I have it working on mine, although I use ChangeIP.org
You do have a working ddns account with someone? If not, I'd suggest ChangeIP, free forever and have had no problems.

tried several DDNS services, none would work. currently it states "connected", but I don't know how long it will. I am using a DDNS client on my server PC now to "help" the dlink router if it fails there.
I just noticed many router features are not really stable. DDNS is reported in many forums to be kind of buggy. and website filtering is not working, too. It filters keywords, but not URLs. So sad. Next router will be another brand for sure.

Mine has stayed connected with ChangeIP for as long as it's been set up. What I find buggy is the time. Everytime I save and reboot the time goes off by days. So I've gotten used to making a change, then adjusting time, then save and reboot.
Good luck.
