FYI, the FW link posted by mtztraktoros, is for the eastern EU region only. All other regions, do not use this FW version on your DIR-879 model router.

Hi,
This is not the best review I've ever wished to post.
Bought this nice 200Eur Wifi router, quite impressed by the specs.
Worked quite fine under FW1.03 for ~6months. Minor disconnections that can be on the provider side.
Missing a lot the detailed logging and any cli . Only visual or wizzard based limited but very easy setups and configurations.
Today I opened the country specific DLINK official page, Romania, being determined to upgrade the FW. Notes stated ~30bug fixes and 6 enhancements. GREAT!
The only FW on the official dlink page was 1.05. After installation, of course, got the exact same problem like other colleagues before.
Upgd to 1.06beta and so far is good.

Just lost 4h for debugging and troubleshooting, and, ironically, still operating on a beta version..
In my view this is not the right way for a global company to support a high/premium product.   
Real thanks to the engineers for their help!

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

• What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
• What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Did you use the version of Beta FW linked at the head of this thread post or from the link that mtztraktoros linked too?
