DCS 2121 recording to Samba
« on: December 18, 2010, 10:47:06 AM »

I am recording to a Samba drive whenever motion is detected.

Works fine with 1 camera. But with more cameras there is a conflict when 2 or more cameras start recording simultaneously - which happens a lot since a new video starts every 1 minute.

Problem is, in the setup I can only write "hdd1", which is the root folder (not f.ex. "hdd1/dlink1/"). Files are then put in a folder named "video" by default.

Anyone know how to specify a different folder for each camera?

Hi

I have the same problem - and i can't figure out how to specify the folder!

BTW: is the scheduled recording or scheduled snapshots working at the DCS2121 you have? I can't get that scheduled recording to work. No matter what i specify, it records then triggered (by motion in my setup). It is really frustrating that I can't control the schedule :-(
Do you have the same problem?

Kind regards, Peter Andersen

I just tested; scheduling works like a charm.
I set it to record today from 20:20 to 20:27, no problem.

Of course, I disabled all other methods to make sure.

Re. folders D-Link Support told me we cannot use sub-folders. So I need to figure out how to create foldesr in the root of the A.C. Ryan Playon that I use as Samba drive.

I've noticed this limitation immediately when setting up my 1130.  With more than one camera you would have to set up separate network shares for each camera.

A proper solution would be to allow the user to choose a sub folder. :-\
