Title: Download files from storage using web access
Post by: jpnadas on June 13, 2013, 11:08:44 PM
Hi all,

I just purchased a D-Link DIR-827 router and would really appreciate if it were possible to download the content on the external hard drive connected to the router via internet (a remote location).

I got a 3 TB WD My Book external hard drive connected to the DIR-827 router.

I was able to view the data and even stream it using the shareport web access, however it does not give me the option to download the files, only stream media and view documents.

I was also able to access the data being connected to the router via WIFI, and this way I am able to download and upload files to it normally.

If shareport is not the answer to my need, is there another way of doing it? If there is no solution for this I will be really frustrated with my purchase and will definitely consider returning it.

Thank you very much!

I believe you can only view files on the USB connected devices to the router for these models.
You can give this a try.
