Not sure where to start to check

I have an issue that started about 2 weeks ago.
Normally when I transfer files from one PC to another I get anywhere from 60-100MB/s. However recently it keeps getting stuck at ~10MB/s.
At first I thought it was the new AV I installed so I removed, but the issue remained.

Everytime I reboot the router the speed is back up to normal. After 5-10min. (not sure on exact time frame, may be longer) it drops back to ~10MB/s.

What on the router (or maybe something else) would cause this to occur?

Any chance that you're running Windows Vista? 

I've seen some deplorable transfer speeds involving PCs running MS Vista and there have been a great deal of online complaints about it.

Actually all machines are running Win7 x64 and also a Windows Home Server in the mix.

Oddly the speeds seem fine today. I did a reboot of the router from within the menu vs power cycling it.

Well it's happening again tonight. Really frustrating here  :( Not sure why everything has been fine for a very long time and now its up and down like this.

Same problem here, I have an A2 hardware and I had 1.34 firmware and now 1.33, same problem, if I ping google.com -t I have a lots of packets drops, why ? same operating system so far...any ideas ?

This seems to be resolved on my end. I changed the WAN speed to 1000Mbps in Advanced - Advanced Network.

Odd as I never had an issue for over a year without changing that setting.

Your issue sounds a bit different from mine though as I never had an issue with internet speeds.

for now I fixed my problem turning off the DNS Relay :)

Ok, this is driving me nuts. It is now back to transferring files to 10 MB/s though it was fine earlier this morning.

It almost seems like your gigabit network is dropping back to 100BT.  Did you check your LAN connection properties on the affected machine to see if you're still gigabit?

Yes, I checked my PC and the WHS. Both are listed at 1Gbps.
Of note I do have Hamachi on both PC's (always have though). I checked the Adapter binding on both PC's and the LocalArea Connection is listed on top of Hamachi in each case.

Still wonder if its the router or something else. I just have no idea.

Well I think I found the issue.

The PC was connecting to the WHS via Hamachi vs. using the LAN. This was because in hosts the IP for WHS was listed as the Hamachi IP.
I renamed the nickname for on WHS for Hamachi and cleaned out the hosts file to point to the right IP's.
