configuration setup/ manually install
« on: September 18, 2007, 09:23:37 AM »

It is advisable when doing a firmware upgrade to reinstall the configuration settings in the router, manually and not install the saved settings from the previous version setup. ie. if you saved the settings of v1.04 firmware and then upgraded the DIR-655 to v1.05, then do not restore the settings that you had saved from the v1.04 to the new v1.05. Rather, manually install the settings. Restoring old setups from previous version firmware, are known to cause problems.

Actually, the settings backup and reload function works quite well for this router. Even when upgrading firmware.
I've yet to see it not work.
