Title: no support for DCS-960L?
Post by: photogd on March 21, 2016, 05:47:52 PM
seriously?

I was told by the rep on the phone that this supports that camera. But the DNR-322L wont find these cameras on my network, and I checked the supported camera list now after buying it and it's not listed.

Seriously angry that I wasted $1300 on 8 of these cameras.

i managed to get it RECORDING to the NVR by manually adding the 960L camera IP's and setting them to "GENERIC MODEL".  But unfortunately I cannot view the recordings or view the live view from the DLINK NVR app on my android phone. And the stupid java from my browser on the mydlink website freezes my browser - on 3 different computers I tested.

Are DLINK products really this horrible? Come on, these 960L's have been out for months now.

i take back what i said.  the nvr isn't recording anything from any of the cameras now.

I can only see live feed.

this thing is useless.

How many cameras do you have connected? 8? I don't think any cameras over 5 or 6 is supported. I would try testing the NVR with only 3-4 cameras connected at first to test. Make sure uPnP and uPnP Port Foward is enabled on ALL cameras. Set up a static IP address for the NVR and cameras thats out side of the main host routers DHCP IP address pool.

Try using 192.168.#.22 for the NVR and 192.168.#.60 thru .64 on the cameras.

Their website says it supports up to 9 cameras. It's why I bought it. The support agent on the phone said 9 should be no problem.

I got it to record to the nvr by going into the my dlink app and undoing manual record. Weird.

However, still problems. I want to do record on motion only.

Only the constant record is working. It will not record at all when it detects motion. I tried everything.

Also the nvr Android app doesn't seem to work with this. It will not show my cameras or recording history at all. But the app works fine with my DNR-202L at my office. So I have no way of viewing the recordings. Because the only other way is with java. And that crashes on me every time. On a brand new computer. Also no way of viewing it on the road because I don't have a laptop and mobile browser doesn't support java.

Is there any information in the user manual regarding motion recording?

WELL Furry, I found an interesting piece of information today that kind of makes me disappointed with D-Link.

I found out that they are selling two versions of the DNR-322L.  A1 hardware version, and B2 hardware version. The A1 hardware version has been out for many years. It looks like the B2 version was released in December of 2015 (5 months ago.) The B2 version has an updated v3.0 firmware which supports the DCS-960L camera, and has a bunch of other hardware improvements. The A1 version (which I have) has only firmware version 2.40 and does not support any of the new cameras, and less hardware features.

I'm kind of irritated because I just bought this DNR-322L a week ago. Why would D-Link send me an old unit when there's a newer better one available? I didn't get this from a store, I got it directly from D-Link on amazon.com

What are the chances D-Link will drop ship me a new hardware version and let me send back this old one after? I can't have my DNR down while I wait to ship this back and get a new one. It puts my office security at risk. I have already paid nearly $2,000 to D-Link for all of their products (most of which I love) I think they can extend a courtesy to me and drop ship me the correct, updated model.

I can by ip. But there's no dcs960l from the list when adding it . So it records, but cannot view anything remotely using the dnr.

Do you know what the hardware differences are between the a2 and b1 versions?

I'm still miffed that I got an old unit. It's apparent only the b1 will have the newest firmware updates. So I feel like I got an old unit they don't care about anymore. :(

I don't have any info on the Rev B. The Rev A is not out of date and it's still on the supported list. I was told that there would be FAQ posted about manually adding cameras that are not listed in the drop down menu. Even though some camera may not be listed, doesn't mean that you can manually add them.

I did manage to manually add them as generic camera. They do record locally which I can access via computer, but they don't show up on any of the dlink Android apps. Only the supported cameras are showing up. Like the DCS-932L. Which I have two of those...

Possibly a future FW update would fix the Android issue. These are fairly new cameras and I'm sure progress is being made. I would contact D-Link support and ask them about any future Android support...
