Yes, in OSX as well. You can either have a PW on a user log in account or not. Just depends.

All my Macs are set up for PWs at log in. Nothing new here.

Right, but should I be being prompted to enter the admin credentials? (You are making changes to your Certificate Trust Settings. Enter your password to allow this.) Reminder, the certificate is good til 2029.

Yes, thats part of the OSX system. When you install a program in OSX, you'll be asked user name and pw credentials. Been like that since 10.4 I believe...
