Trouble reading files on the NAS with Windows Media Player
« on: July 30, 2009, 11:47:17 AM »

Since a few days ago, I have a hard time opening media files that are stored on my DNS-323 with Windows Media Player, say I double-clic on a audio or video file, Windows Media Player tries to open it and gives me an error stating that it cannot find the file.

But if I click on the same file in my Windows Media Player Library, the file plays just fine.  Or if I copy it to my hard drive first, then double click it, it open and plays normally.

Also if I open the files on the NAS with another application like Windows Media Center, I get no error the the files plays fine.

So it really seems to be related to Windows Media Player not "seeing" the files on the NAS.

As anyone encountered this problem and know how to fix it ???

Any help is greatly appreciated.
