Title: Can I upgrade Firmware to 5.14B01?
Post by: patkim on March 05, 2020, 09:29:07 AM
Hi,
I am still using Dlink DIR 615 that I bought way back in 2011 - 12 timeframe. Region Asia India.
HW E4 FW 5.10

From within the Web Interface of the router it shows next available global 5.12 Firmware.
However when I visit https://legacy.us.dlink.com/pages/product.aspx?id=74d82a4d004440a597678377c74080db (https://legacy.us.dlink.com/pages/product.aspx?id=74d82a4d004440a597678377c74080db) and select rev E I see Firmware 5.14B01 available in 2016.

Unfortunately there's no more similar support page on Dlink India website. The model is totally discontinued in my region.
The above URL by default selects US region.

Will it be safe to upgrade my current 5.10 FW to 5.14B01 when the product was bought in Asia but the firmware is being downloaded from US Dlink site?
The Hardware Revision matches with E in the drop down, however it does not explicitly state if it is applicable to E4 which is what my router's web interface shows.

Thanks and regards.

I believe so, however if your in a Asia region, there maybe differences from Asia region FW to USA or NA regional FW.
