D-Link DIR-825 C1 (LAN ports not working and Language Issue)
« on: March 22, 2016, 01:22:03 AM »

Hi All,

I have a D-Link DIR-825 Revision C1 router.

The language is in Korean and I'm not able to find a language pack to alter this - I've tried the latest v3.01 firmware on the D-Link website, but that didn't change anything, apart from the firmware now displaying v3.01 instead of v3.00.

Also, quite possibly a bigger problem, the LAN ports are not working.  I've tried resetting the router by holding in for 10 seconds, and I've also tried the 30/30/30 option, but none of these options work.  I read online that many users experienced this when trying to flash it with DD-WRT, but I've not done this.

Please advise on how to fix the above.

Thank you.

EDIT: I've managed to REMOVE the Language Pack - seems I missed this step previously, but by using B Hardware Version Simulator, I guided myself through the Korean jibberjabber.  Now the issue is just getting the ports to work...

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

u]Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations[/u]
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
  • What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have? Link> Speed Testing Sites
  • Check cable between Modem and Router and PC, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended.

This is recommended for all D-Link routers:
Link> >FW Update Process

Do you see any change after swapping cables in the PC notification area of windows? Network properties under status? There is a connection rate displayed as well on the properties page of the adapter that your trying to connect.

Tried different devices?

I presume if the LAN ports fail to come back or not working after doing a factory reset and a full power off from the power adapter, that the unit maybe faulty and would need to be RMAd.
