I just bought a new NetGear WN2000RPTv2 range extender.  I am confused about connecting it to my DLINK 628.   How can I tell if it has  WPS (Wi-Fi protected setup)?  The DLINK 628 supports only WPA/WPA2.

Also,  when I enter the 198.162.0.1  in the address box of IE 11, the DIR screen comes up I log in and the Device Info screen comes up but when I click on anything does not respond.

Any help will be appreciated.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again. (For older generation routers.)

You'll need to contact the Mfr of the range extender for help and information on setting it up.
