DHP-310AV and DHP-308AV have stopped talking to eachother
« on: October 05, 2015, 11:15:15 AM »

I purchased these adapters about 16 months ago, and they have worked very well up until now. I've recently moved into a new student house where I've been living for the past 3-4 weeks. The powerline adapters were working perfectly fine in this house up until yesterday. I would keep losing connection after about 30-60 seconds in the middle of a CSGO game, and if i restarted the 310AV and reconnected, it would lose connection in about 30-60 seconds again. After having this a few more times, it just completely stopped working. I can still get a wifi signal from the 310AV, and all the lights are green on both adapters except for the "powerline connection" lights which do not have any light at all (not even displaying orange). I tried reconnecting them by putting them in the same room and running the wizard on the config page, but it doesn't work. also hitting the reconnect buttons on both devices does not work. I also tried unplugging both devices for several hours and then trying again the next day, but they still will not connect.

The wiring in this house seems like it is fairly old (not exactly sure how old), but it was working fine for 3-4 weeks, up until now, so I don't know why the wiring would suddenly be the cause. Are these things just fried and I should buy new ones? Should I try flipping the circut breaker for the whole house off and on again?

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

They were unable to solve the issue and directed me to fill out a replacement form. Unfortunately my warranty is up so I can't get a replacement.

When you unplug both devices and plug them back in, they will connect for about a minute before disconnecting again.

You might try in a different location, say at a friend, or families place to see if the problem follows. If it does, I presume they should be replaced.
