Expired certificate

Hi,

I hope I can get pointed in the right direction to get my issue resolved. I have a DCS-3410 that is used as a web cam. I would like users to be able to view it by clicking a link on my website. When you click the link and enter the name "guest" and the password "pass" it goes to the D-Link live video screen but then throws up the error message "Your security settings have blocked an application signed with an expired or not yet valid certificate from running"

I understand the work around using the exception list in Java, but to try to get the random person that just wants to click the link and view the web cam to figure it out will be a problem.

What are my options? How can I get an updated certificate that Java likes?

Thanks,

Dan

Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.

We are in the US.

People will be trying to access the site with various browsers and various versions.

The certificate signed by VeriSign expired in 2009 according to the security warning that comes up once I add the site to the exceptions list. I just can't see the random person trying to access the site, to be able to figure out how to do it and then jump through the hoops to view it. I think a valid certificate would solve the problem. I am not sure of the process to get the certificate valid though.

Thanks

Dan

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

They said there is no more tech support for my model camera. It looks like I might have to update the firmware in the camera and that might update the certificate (they think). That means I have to get someone on a lift since it is on a pole about 30 feet up to reset it cause the admin login and password were changed when we first got it (probably by me) and I have no clue what it is.

Once I reset it and can upgrade the firmware I will post the results.
