Bridge Mode. New setup help..
« on: August 07, 2013, 02:58:45 PM »

I just got my AC1750 (868L) and I have a running CATV Modem/Wireless Router.
I read in the instructions and spoke to a tech rep at my catv before receiving it.. and Bridge Mode was suggested.

Is it as simple as connecting my 868L and running the Wizard? Using a feed from a lan out on the catv router. An option in the wizard will be Bridge Mode? Help, how do I setup Bridge Mode?

It's a UBEE looks like DDW3610.. could be a DDW3611.

I found instructions about connecting to an existing router. disable UPnP, DCHP and change LAN IP to an available one on the network. Talks about staying within 192.168.0.xxx (between 2 and 254).
Then I turn on settings in the new router. I am looking at page 11 in the users manual.

I'm a PC builder and overclocker, but this router stuff is.. not a lot of experience. so, thanks for the help. I am going to call my catv tech in the am. I was told that they can help on their router, but tech support for mine is.... but help where they can. I don't want to screw it up.

Turning a router into an AP.

This is still wired AP mode, not wireless bridge...

Thank you...

I am reading the information you sent, and I am learning why you suggest AP over Bridged. lol... I'm learning a lot of new stuff to get my AC1750 hooked up, so I can buy cameras, other connectivity goodies and use the android apps.

I will report how the final setup is working. I have not called my catv tech yet.

If this is your ISP Modem:
http://www.ubeeinteractive.com/products/cable/ddw3611

I would recommend checking to see if it can be bridged so you can use the DIR-868L as your main host router and WiFi AP, that would be preferred. If not, see if the ISP modem has a DMZ.

Any chance your ISP supports a stand alone modem like the Motorola SB 6 Series modems?
