Windows 7 Backup to NAS stopped working
« on: April 09, 2010, 11:00:56 AM »

I was backing my Windows 7 64-bit Enterprise machine to DNS-323 (firmware 1.08)  over the network, using Windows Backup.

It was working perfectly, but suddenly stopped working. The error is "The specified network location cannot be used" (0x800704B3)

I can still access the NAS with with Windows Explorer using the network address that used to work in Windows Backup. \\xyz\user\

The problem started around the time of daylight saving time... but adjusting the time on the DNS-323 has not solved my problem.

Any suggestions?

FWIW, I'd lose Windows Backup and use one of the many better 3rd party backup applications.

Does anyone have experience getting the DNS-323 to work using Windows Backup and Restore?
