Have you contacted Apple or posted anything on there forums?

I guess will just have to be patient for Apples fix. Only thing you could try is to maybe find a different 5Ghz AP to connect, something older and see if that works. Like a used Apply Airport Extreme and run it in AP mode and see if the iPad works better. Then again, it may not.

I have posted on the Apple support forums but I never get an answer there are so many posts all the time.

My latest issue is that on my iPad the same websites won't load or are really slow, whereas my PC loads the pages without issue, I have reset the router to factory settings, reset the ipad, changed my DNS server and deleted my safari history and shared information.

Strange but true

Lets try a test.

Set the following on the 5Ghz radio:
Single mode AC and WPA2/AES only, then disable WPA2 all together
Single mode N and WPA2/AES only, then disable WPA2 all together
I can't remember if single A is supported...Single mode A with WPA only and Mixed Mode security, then disable WPA all together

Re-able WiFi security after testing.

Do any of these modes work?

I gave this a try and the same problems persisted, can't figure out what to do.

Trying to watch twitch streams at the moment and they load but then it will come up with problem detected and say that the streamer is offline when they aren't

Wondering if I should drop back to the older firmware?.

So with Security disabled on the 5Ghz you still saw wireless problems?

You could try shipping FW and see. Do a factory reset, load the FW file, factory reset once more then set up from scratch and try default settings on the WiFi and OPEN security and see...

Hi,

Yes I disabled wifi security and my problem did not improve, I have also rolled back to the previous firmware and that also made no difference.

I'm thinking it's something with the iPad and IOS version...only thing I can think of would be to go back one version and see.

I read that iOS 8.1.2 is out...  ::)

Hi again,

IOS 8.1.2 only fixes a ringtone issue  >:( although I have updated an iPad to check and its still no better.

Today I brought home my work Thinkpad which has 2.4ghz, connected at around 75Mbps and that also timesout on webpages, Twitch was fine on there unlike the iPads but still I can't get my wired PC to timeout on websites at all. I have the 2.4Ghz set to 20Mhz Channel 1 on Mixed g/n.

I was having issues with my PS4 and Xbox One but they were both getting DDossed pretty hard over the weekend.

So all iPads are not working well with G mode test huh?

Try switching to 5Ghz and single mode N, WPA2/AES only and test again. try channel 48 and 149.

PS4 and XB1 are working ok? Wireless? Which radio were they using?

Only think I might suggest is to get another 880L if you have a local store that has a good refund policy and see if the same thing happens. I presume it may and would be up to you to test if you feel like it.

Hi,

Not sure if this is a UK region issue but on my 5Ghz settings the only channels I get are 36,40,44,48 I can't find anything that states how many should be available.

Basically at the moment I am on 5GHz N only WPA/WPA2 Personal Channel 48, I have also tried 44 and it is the same. Its strange how both bands are affected though, these page timeouts happen on the iPad 2 which is connected via 2.4Ghz, the rest are on the 5Ghz band.

Both Xbox One and PS4 are wired into a switch and then into the router, I am thinking that I may have to test another 880L as at the moment I do not have anything else available to test.

Ok. I forgot your in the UK so your router will be missing the extra 5Ghz channels.

Well, for now, I guess see if Apple comes out with 8.2. It's been seeded to devs. I presume it would be next year before we see that.

If you can test with another router at some point.
