Where did you solder the GND to? And what settings did you use for console program?

Hello,  I put the gnd attached to the gnd pole of the fan.  I used same settings as the first post.
I will now try to invert TX and rx cables
Will post

Yes, that's the cause, TXD & RXD pin need to be reverse on the NAS side. And try to solder GND to pin 4 instead of using the fan GND pin

Also remember to check the driver settings under Device Manager, IIRC the default is set to 9600 baud.

I MADE IT! I am into the serial console prompt, as ROOT.
Joy oh joy.
Now the thing is that I need to pass the correct commands to un-brick my NAS....
Let's do some research... again

@ emuluke:
Can you please post the commands you used to un-brick your NAS from within uBoot?

I bricked my DNS-320L after a firmware upgrade. I have access to the serial port can use the uBoot console.
I can transfer the original firmware(DLINK_DNS320L(LW).1.04b12) image to the NAS through tftp, but how do I go from there?

I never used uBoot before and need a little guidance. Maybe it's possible to modify your way of unbricking the DNS-320 to unbrick a DNS-320L...

Hi All, I'm new and I need to unbrick my DNS-320L. It's first time I try to use u-boot . I followed many forums and I soldered  a serial usb port (CP2102 module ) to my Nas. I used the pinout of the first post. Only difference is for GND pin that I soldered to the back of usb port). I'm using windows 10 with Putty (serial port is set to 115200-8-n-1 no flow control, but I tried also with 9600baud with same result). I run putty, but I can't see any cursor or text in the terminal window. So I'm before the breaking commands (space+1). I tried to exchange also Rx and TX connection without a result. Do you have any suggestion before waste this Nas? Thank you in advance , and sorry if I could not understand some  steps. Best regards
