URL Command List
« on: July 11, 2015, 08:53:29 PM »

Hi:

I just got two DCS-934Ls and I'm trying to pass the username and password. The command list at http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=59172.0 doesn;t list this camera. I have tried http://[IPADDRESS]/aview.htm?user=[USERNAME]&password={PASSWORD] but the web page still asks for login info.

Also I have tried looking at these cameras via crome but I only get a still image, not motion. In IE, I had to load a extention for it to show motion. Any way to do the same in crome?

Thanks for your time.

I don't have one of these cameras so unfortunately I can't be of direct help.  But a couple of questions/comments come to mind:

1. What are you trying to do?  Just look at the video without bringing up the entire camera web interface?
2.  Where did you get the URL string that you are testing with?
3.  Assuming the camera does allow you to pass the credentials in via a URL, it does seem like your syntax is wrong.  Most likely it's just ignoring everything after the ? and is not even trying to process the credentials you are passing in.

FurryNutz asked me to comment:  Unfortunatly, I am only using a dynamic dns service and port forwarding on the router to the camera; not the mydlink service.  The camera replies with a login page requesting the camera's user name and password.  I supply those (using linux and firefox), and it shows the camera image.  It is not a video, but rather a still image.  This is sufficient for my needs, since it is only to monitor the temperature of the plenum on my furnace.  I have wondered if I enabled java, if the camera would stream video, but to tell the truth, I have been too lazy to work this out.  I suppose it would involve opening more ports on the router firewall, as a first consideration.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Regards,
Bob

Just realized this board doesn't notify when there is a response. My bad.
I'm trying to embed an image from the camera by the way of an iframe. I'd love to see movement without refreshing the page.

Thanks.
