Is there a way to block websites using the router?
« on: March 25, 2010, 08:09:40 PM »

Hello, my mom just bought herself a netbook and she isn't much of a computer user.
She doesn't know how a lot of things work and she will be probably surprised to find out the internet is basically filled with a whole bunch of p0rnography  :o
Is there a way to block inappropriate websites using the router?
(I also want to block her from using things like Limewire if possible)

Go to the Routers Web-page and select the Advanced Tab, on the left side, about the 7th entry is called Website Filter.

Click on it and you are able to entry sites not allowed to visit. Make sure you have set the option above the list called "DENY computers access to ONLY these sites" and fill in the URL, or just the domain name (xyz.com) to filter out all. Save the Settings and Bob is your Uncle.
