Yes, you can put stickers on the case  ;D

Seriously though, I appreciate Macs as well. . . They have their strengths and weaknesses like any product/technology. Comparing Windows/PC/Macs is not an apples-to-apples comparison (pardon the pun).
Apples? Don't you know what the Iphone is?

BANANA PHONE!

PS. I have mad respect for Power mac users. Hack the Mac!

Well, I didn't want to say "bananas-to-bananas comparison". That wouldn't make sense, now would it?  ;D

I like to eat..eat..eat...Apples and Bananaaaa...

Its been one of those days. Found out the 4500 I got for my Ex went DOA. To be fair though, I blame the users, not the router. Did you know you can use ethernet to string a router up between your bookcase and desk? ::facepalm:: Poor little router never had a chance.

Probably something else. If no better reason it will allow me to learn some new hardware. I have it between these three. Thoughts?

It was set up perfectly. I bought them all new top of the line shielded CAT6 ethernet, a Tripp Lite ISOBAR4ULTRA 4 surge protector, a 450Mb Trendnet USB gaming adapter, the whole gambit. Had it plugged into its own electrical outlet, all the wires nice and neat, network configuration planned and recorded both hard and soft copy. What I didn't account for was the stupidity of the user whose room I put it in.  She must have let it fall off the book shelf too many times..or spilled soda on it or something. She called me up today and told me it wouldn't even power on.  Theres more to it then that though. I will spare you the drama.

Ahhh, I see.  I thought that it was placed between some books and overheated.  Man, some women are pigs.  My wife is horribly messy and absent minded when it comes to keeping things neat and clean.  She needed our marriage license for something and left it in her glove compartment in her car.  When she gave it back to me it was covered in soda/coffee stains, makeup or some **** like that, etc.  Her birth certificate suffered the same fate.

I have 2 Buffalo routers.  One is WHR-G300N I got as a refurb for about $18 and the other I bought new is the WZR-HP-AG300N.  It was about $100.  It has some bugs that need to be worked out.  It doesn't like Google Chrome for example, but the cheapo one works flawlessly.  They are a bear to setup, though.  Nothing like D-Links, Netgear and Linksys.  I couldn't get the router to recognize my ISP.  Contact with the UI was fine, but the wizard doesn't do it's job.  I've never owned an ASUS but would like to try them out one of these days.

Harry, do they really need a nice router?  Get them a refurb if they're hard on the things.  I can point you to some deals.  Buy.com, ecost.com, compusa.com and gearxs.com have cheap but decent ones.

Just want to state for the record it wasn't my ex who kill it. It was her room mate. We had to put it in her room. Now she is moving into her own place. I am probably going to get her the RT-N16 and try to load dd-wrt on it. If will be a good learning experience for when I get my new router.

Chrome=Barf.  ;D

Well we all can't use Safari.  :P But yea, i use Chrome for general browser, FF for youtube, and MSIE for work(at home). I think I might switch to Chrome at work.  It works much better with the roaming profile and softgrid system we use. Also, many sites mark Chrome 12 as top of the browser list. Go "search the internet" for it. hehe.

Wow, I just had a bad waking dream that some Dlink member in the forums started moderating our OT threads and told us that we needed to keep ON Topic or we'd be deleted and banned. What a messed up dream man.  :-\
