DAP-1522 =? Wired range extender (& Switch for NAS, etc)
« on: January 03, 2013, 06:31:58 AM »

Dear D-Link,

With this post I want ask if I am looking at the right product to meet my needs.

My current situation:
- I have the Dir-655 Router downstairs, with 4 network cables going to key locations at the house (including upstairs)
- The wireless network works well downstairs, but not upstairs...

The required / desired situation:
- I want to improve Wifi quality upstairs and add a basic NAS (preferably upstairs)
- The 1522 has 4 ports (for bridge those are line-out, but can for access point one be used as line-in?!?!?)

Or should I add another router?
- and connect NAS to new router upstairs?
- or move 655 upstairs and find better router downstairs (with USB storage connection for NAS functionality)

(Or is using 1522 upstairs as wireless Access point icw simple switch downstairs to connect NAS a better solution?)

Best regards,

Joep
