Title: DCS-7110
Post by: spikt on April 08, 2012, 03:05:47 PM
Having difficulties setting up my dcs-7110.
First i like to know is there no other way to access the web interface without the need
of QuickTime installed? I'd like to avoid that at any cost, I don't want any unnecessary extra apps just to access a menu.

In the manual 1.0 there is clearly a option to set different motion detection options.
In my setup (1.01) there is just enable motion detection, no sensitivity or other sort of sliders, boxes.
Is there any firmware upgrade that i should be aware of?
The whole reason i bought this camera was that i needed an outdoor camera witch would record to samba drive without running 3rd party app. I do not have hard drive or the time to look through 24/7 of recorded footage.

I have dcs 2121 and the dcs 2210 that i am very happy with, but i was unaware that dcs 7110 would use an entirely different and messy interface.

Yes. Open the camera in Internet explorer.

Ah thank you, sliders appear in IE. This product may not be so bad after all.
After reading back my post seem somewhat rude, apologies.

The DCS-7110 supports simultaneous streaming of H.264, MPEG-4, and MJPEG video to provide both high-quality and bandwidth-efficient compression formats
