ARP spoofing
« on: May 13, 2010, 08:26:59 PM »

I have a DIR-825 with a DAP 1522 connected doing wireless bridging.

When its just the DIR-825, I'm able to connect fine both wirelessly and wired.

When I connect the DAP-1522 and dont plug anything into it, its cool.   But after I plug in my tivo and my bluray player, my wireless laptop can't get to the internet anymore.

On the laptop, when I look at the arp cache, I can see that the DIR-825 at 192.168.0.1's mac address is replaced by the mac address of the DAP-1522.   If I delete that arp entry so my laptop relearns it, I can then get to the internet again.

WHEN THINGS ARE WORKING:
C:\windows\system32>arp -a

Interface: 192.168.0.12 --- 0xc
  Internet Address      Physical Address      Type
  192.168.0.1           00-24-01-e2-5a-cf     dynamic
  192.168.0.255         ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff     static
  224.0.0.22            01-00-5e-00-00-16     static
  224.0.0.252           01-00-5e-00-00-fc     static
  239.255.255.250       01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa     static
  255.255.255.255       ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff     static

WHEN THINGS ARE NOT WORKING:
C:\windows\system32>arp -a

Interface: 192.168.0.12 --- 0xc
  Internet Address      Physical Address      Type
  192.168.0.1           1c-bd-b9-7e-1f-2e     dynamic
  192.168.0.255         ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff     static
  224.0.0.22            01-00-5e-00-00-16     static
  224.0.0.252           01-00-5e-00-00-fc     static
  239.255.255.250       01-00-5e-7f-ff-fa     static
  255.255.255.255       ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff     static

i tried turning off the arp spoofing on the DAP-1522 but that hasn't helped anything.
