How to Use DIR-600L as Wi-Fi Repeater?
« on: May 14, 2020, 04:56:48 AM »

Friends,

I am new to the forum but joined with a hope that I will be properly guided by experienced members of the forum.

I have recently taken a JioFiber connection. The unit has 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz connection capacity. Unfortunately I do not get strong signals at all places in my house. Strength of signals seems OK in the room where the router is placed. In other rooms the strength fluctuates too much and frequently connections to my devices goes off. The JioFiber Router Model is JCO500.

As a solution to this, I wish to use D-Link Wireless  N-150 Cloud Router DIR-600L as a Wi-Fi Repeater/Booster/Extender. I have this unit in spare and want to use it to resolve my weak signal issue as shown above. This UNIT (D-Link Wireless  N-150 Cloud Router DIR-600L) is having Hardware Version Ax and Firmware Version 1.00. This is just for your information.

Could any of the members help me by guiding step-by-step method that how it could be configured for Wi-Fi Repeater/Booster/Extender ?

A prompt ans very positive response from your end is eagerly awaited.

Regards to all in anticipation.

Try checking the user manual to see if this feature is supported. I don't remember it being supported on this model router.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the links and detailed information sources updated to me.
Though, I am not a technical person, but reviewing the available information and digging the internet, I feel that this Router DIR-600L is not supporting this feature.
However, if some one find something positive in this regard that it can be used wirelessly as a Wi-Fi Repeater/Extender, please let me know and help.
Though I am able to use it as extender by connecting wire ( From LAN port of Jio Fiber Router to WAN port of DIR-600L.
Initially the instrument had Firmware Version 1.00 only which I upgraded to Firmware Version 1.13 (i.e. FW1.13WWB02)  which was the modification on Dt.23-08-2019 by DLink. Its reference is as under:

(REF: http://dlink.co.in/firmware/ftp.aspx)
Type :   Firmware
Version   :FW1.13WWB02
Product   : DIR-600L A1
Last modified   :23-08-2019
Download :DIR-600L A1 .bin file of 2.8 mb  downloaded

Regards to all.
