I've got the same issue, but it seems to happen when I run uTorrent and I close it.

I've submitted a question to Dlink, I will see what will be the answer.

Just got this from Dlink support:

Products:   DIR-601
    Operating System:  Windows XP Pro

Please ensure to include in your reply your company name, serial number, store, date of purchase, hardware and firmware versions.

If your issue has been resolved there is no need to reply to this email.

We kindly advise you to configure your router and please follow the below mentioned steps:

If you are using a Cable Internet connection (Shaw, Rogers) please follow the steps mentioned below to configure router in Dynamic mode.

Step 1 Connect your modem into the Internet port on the router and connect your computer into LAN port 1 and on the computer log into the web-based configuration by typing in the IP address of the router (default:192.168.0.1) in your web browser. The username is admin (all lowercase) and the password is blank (nothing).

Note: The address 192.168.0.1 is NOT on the Internet. The web-based configuration is built-in to the router.

If the router is already online, you will be taken to the STATUS page after logging in. If this is the case, the router is connected and you do not need to continue with this FAQ.

Step 2 Click the Setup tab and then click the Internet button.

Step 3 Click Manual Configure.

Step 4 Dynamic IP Address is the default value, however, if Dynamic IP Address is not selected as the WAN type, select Dynamic IP Address from the drop down menu. Click Clone Mac Address. Click on Save Settings to save the changes.

Step 5 Click on Status. Under WAN, Click DHCP Renew. If it does not get an IP address or times out, then continue with Step 6.

Step 6 Power cycle the cable modem and router using the following steps:

* Turn the cable modem off (first)
* Turn the router off
* Leave them off for 2 minutes**
* Turn the cable modem on (first)
* Wait until you get a solid cable light on the cable modem
* Turn the router on
* Wait 30 seconds
** If you have a Motorola (Surf Board) modem, leave off for at least 5 minutes.

Step 7 Follow Step 1 again to log back into the web configuration. Click the Status tab and click the Device Info button. If you do not already have a public IP address under the WAN heading, click on the DHCP Renew button. Now you can go online on a wired computer.

Please do the following steps on your router to do the wireless settings:

Step 1 Open a web browser and type the IP address of the DIR series router into the address bar (default is http://192.168.0.1). Press Enter

Step 2 The default username is admin (all lower case) and the default password is blank (nothing). Click on OK.

Step 3 Click on the Setup tab at the top and then click on Wireless Settings on the lefthand side.

Step 4 Change wireless network name to a new one

Step 5 Check 'Enable Auto channel scan'

Step 6 From the Wireless Security Mode dropdown menu, select WPA-Personal encryption.

Step 7 From the WPA Mode dropdown, Under WPA, select WPA only and from cypher type selest TKIP.

Step 6 In the Pre-Shared Key box, enter the desired Pre-shared key.

This is the "password" that allows communication between you're encrypted client (e.g. the PSP or your wireless computer) and the encrypted wireless signal coming from the router. This password must contain at least 8 characters, the characters can be anything you can create from your keyboard.

Step 7 Click on Save Settings to save your settings.

You can connect to the new network name after you do the above settings.

Should you require further assistance with your D-Link products, please reply to this message, or call toll free at  800-361-5265.  Thank you for networking with D-Link.

Sincerely,
