Hello, I have two questions about the built in recording feature of this camera.
First is it possible to change the length that new files will be created? Right now it creates 1 minute chunks which becomes a pain in the butt to manage. I would really like to set the length to 10min or even 60min chunks as one minute is just to short. I use the camera for constant recording and do not plan on puttin in a computer to record to due to logistics.
Secondly, is there software that will manage these files? That is pull down from the cameras SD and archive then allow you to simply play from any location via mouse or time picker?
I have used professional security systems in the past and know that this is just an entry home consumer camera but was hoping it had a little more functionality, as it stands the built in SD recording is almost useless without some sort of management software.

The current firmware will record up to 6 min in duration.(I set mine to 5) I too would prefer 60 min...
You can play them right off the cameras web page under "SD Management"(well you download the clip and play it) or you can copy them right off the SD card(maybe keep 2 cards in rotation). I haven't yet found an easy way to yank all the files off remotely in one batch though.
I don't know what software is on the disk, so maybe someone else knows of something on there.
I thought that ideally you could use the video clip to ftp option, but it seems to record 11 second clips every minute max when I tested it.... not too useful if you wanted a constant record.
It seems like you either get a bunch of 5 minute clips, or you need to capture the stream on your own.

I got a similar issues of this SD recording file sizes. I kept a motion movement for 2-3 mins but I got so many a small 11-16 sec files in SD management. It is not convenience to view/download one file of short video clip at a time. I had already set file size to 3 mins but the camera did not work as setting.
for the second answer, I need to release a SD card from the camera slot and plug into a memory card reader and then copy a whole day files/folder into a local hard disk. I can play a continuous video clips in a folder with VLC media player. (function: Media -> Open Folder).
