DIR 882 firmware rebuild from source
« on: July 10, 2019, 03:27:06 PM »

Hello

Has been anyone here successful with rebuilding  DIR 882 firmware from provide tarball image ?
https://dlink-gpl.s3.amazonaws.com/GPL1900055/DIR-882_V1.11B01_GPLCode_20190306.tar.gz

I've managed to get final DIR882_uImage.img file compiled (though it needs few 'minor' quirks)
with size 12561739 - however after the installation in rescue mode  the router simple
doesn't boot (2nd led just shines in red)

Also there are few  only-object files (no sources)
(whole  DIR882_GPL_Release/source/user/apps/ directory)
and
DIR882_GPL_Release/source/linux-3.10.14.x/drivers/net/wireless/MTK7615/mt_wifi_ap/mt_wifi.o
has either just invalid build-rules or is provided  as binary blob.
Why is that  ?

Anyone here could enlighten me what I'm doing wrong or how to make it fly ?

Might ask over on the DD-WRT forum to see if one of those devs there knows. Not a lot of users here building there own code.
