Does anyone know if I can get the DSM-520 to decode m2ts format (blu ray HD) files. I was sucessful in updating the DNS-323 NAS to support the m2TS file format in the UPnP media server, BUT still cannot open the file on the Media Lounge DSM-520. The DSM-520 manual says that formats supported include MPEG-2 (up to 8Mbps, Resolution up to 1080i) is supported. I thought m2TS was supposed to be using MPEG2 - am I wrong. Or is the m2TS using a modified MPEG2?

Playon so far is great for streaming online stuff, like netflix hulu type sites, tveristy is great for transcoding stuff from your dns-323, i know it works great for .vob files from my nas

In actuality it can support High Def files up to about 20 mbps. Anything higher than this will not work on the DSM-520 due to the limitation of the chipset inside. You could try re-naming the m2ts file to mpg and see if it will play.
