Hi everyone,
I posted on here two days ago because I bought a second-hand DIR-868L Rev B router and had problems with it restarting while connecting on the 5GHz wifi band. And now I'm back, as the speed of my router has suddenly dropped tenfold.
I have a 100/100Mbps fiber line and I was able to fully get that speed both connected by cable and by 5Ghz wifi. But today I suddenly noticed that a download was going really slow, at around 800-900 kbytes/s.
I did a speedtest (turning off anything that was downloading/uploading of course) and I could only get about 10/10Mbps. Thinking it might be my PC I did another speedtest on my phone, which also only got 10/10Mbps while before it was also getting a solid 100/100.
So I connected my PC straight to my ISP's modem and what do you know, I have my 100/100Mbps back. So for some reason unknown my router is lowering my speed from 100 to 10Mbps after being in use for 2 days. I checked the firmware, nothing was changed in the config, there's no limits, no other devices connected that are stealing my bandwidth, etc.
Any ideas on why this is happening? I'm thinking about flashing DD-WRT to the router, seeing if that will work.
