There has been some problems seen by users with various DNS models and network connection to them using Windows 10 PC OS platforms. This is a known problem acknowledged by Microsoft, see http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/09/29/microsoft_warns_windows_security_fix_may_break_network_shares/

Users experiencing this problem will need to find alternative ways to get around this until MS corrects this problem. Users are recommended to use Windows 7/8 or Linux PC OS platforms as an alternative method to use and connect with D-Links DNS storage units when this problem appears.

This is a Microsoft issue. Please contact MS for further information about this.
