FTP subfolders

Hi all,

I'm having some difficulty with my DCS-2136L, which is a new addition to my existing DCS-2121.

My original 2121 cam is setup to FTP motion-triggered images to an FTP site, with a filename prefix and date time info. Ever since it was first installed, it always created subfolders in the target FTP folder. For example, if I'd set 'pictures' as the target folder in the remote folder name setting, it was creating subfolders as such:

>pictures
    >20150115
       >08
       >09
       >15
       >20
    >20150116
       >11
       >13
       >23
..etc

..where the first subfolder is the date the image was captured, and the next subfolder being the hour of capture (in 24hr format).

With the addition of the newer DCS-2136L, I've setup all the same settings and expected that it would do the same; alas it is dumping all of the photos in the 'pictures' folder, rather than categorizing them into day and hour subfolders.

I've searched through all the settings, and escalated to the Dlink email support (who took 3 canned emails back and forth to even read my original request - grrr), who eventually suggested a factory reset and rekeying all the settings. I've now done this and it hasn't solved the problem.

Can anyone provide some guidance around how I might enable this setting (or perhaps how it might be added to a future firmware)? I'd really like to be able to look in a date/hour subfolder and have the photos from both cameras in the same location.

Thanks in advance,
Jamie.

Any status on this?  ???

mjgriffo:
ha - D-Link support repeatedly didn't answer my question via email, and eventually told me it wouldn't work. I'm using https://www.ispyconnect.com/ instead, and although it has a few hiccups occasionally, at least it works.

FurryNutz:
FYI, these more complex questions and situations need phone support. We recommend phone support for better response next time. Glad you got it working.
Enjoy.  ;)

How do you like the camera?

I do have some questions - can your eyes visibly see what is lit up by the camera white led?   Is it like a super weak led flashlight?  Or can you navigate in total darkness because the LED lights up enough?

I guess this is what keeps me from buying the camera...  I could use a motion sensor night light in the right place if this is the case...?
