I updated some cameras and ran a firmwire update on some cameras and dvr and everything works on the web interface but the app for the DVR has a red dot so I cant click it, any idea? Finally had everything working and the app doesnt want to work. I thought just signing out and back in would work but that didnt do anything
-
What app are you referring too? MyDLink Lite?
What model cameras did you upgrade?
-
No, I'm referring to the "mydlink View" app for my DVR-202L. When I go to the app it usually has DNR-202L and a green circle, now it has a red circle. I cant image updating the cameras did anything but I
updated actually reset my DCS-2330L cause it was not showing my my "mydlink lite" app and updated my actual DVR-202L to the last firmware. The DVR works on the web interface, I just dont see what would keep it from working in the "mydlink View" app now
-
Ok.
I just plugged in my 202L. Both MDL app and View show it's connected and working. View app is Green and I can select it and my 3 cameras are viewable.
My DNR is using a static IP address of 192.168.0.202, 933L and 936L are also using static. These are outside of the default IP address pool of my router.
960L is using Dynamic.
Have you rebooted your router?
Is upnp enabled on the router and all these devices?
-
I dont use a static IP, but I've never had an issue before. Could the IP have changed since the DVR has been off for a few weeks?
How do I check if upnp is enabled on the 202L? All my cameras work on the Lite app and the 202L works on the web interface so wouldn't that mean upnp isnt the issue?
-
Yes, if the DNR was off for weeks, and you don't have a static or reservation set for the DNR, then the IP address could have changed when you turned back on.
Reason why I have a static IP address set on mine at .202.
Check network settings on the DNR for uPnP settings. I presume if web interface is working, the issue could be else where.
-
Where do I check the settings on the DNR? I looked everywhere on the web interface but couldnt find anything. Is there a way my app has my old dvr ip (if it changed)? I have a X next to the dvr in the dlink lite app, I dont remember if that was normally a green check like the cameras or not? If I delete that will it delete my DNR settings?
-
Ok, so if you use a browser to log in to mdlink.com, is the DNR active there or disabled? If active then there is a problem with the app.
I would try to remove the app, then reinstall it.
Can you try this app on a different mobile device?
The app doesn't use an IP address persae, rather gets it's information form the MDL services. There services determine if the connection and DNR is online correctly.
-
Ok, so logging into mydlink.com it says the DNR-202L is offline, but like I said if I get the ip from the router "map of devices" and put it in the browser it logs in and my recordings are running fine and all
-
Ok, so something between the router and the MDL service is being blocked.
What is the Mfr and model of your ISP Modem and main host router please.
My modem is a stand alone modem and router has uPnP enabled along with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding enabled on all my 3 cameras. DNR is set for .202 static IP address. So it won't change there.
You might do a factory reset on the DNS and set it up from scratch and see if you can get the MDL site services to see the DNR. If not, then something on the router or ISP modem is inhibiting the MDL services to connect with the DNR.
-
I have a RT-AC68U router and a Netgear CM600 modem. I checked in the router and it says upnp is enabled. What is MDL? and by factory reset on the DNS will I be resetting the whole DNR?
-
MDL=MyDlink services.
Yes, factory reset the DNR and set up from scratch. Something has got the DNR and MDL service from communicating with each other.
All is working here for me. Stand alone modem and just my router. DNR seen on MDL apps.
-
Ok so I just tried to run the setup again but when it gets to the end it just says finish, never gave me an option for adding to my dlink account?
-
What browser are you using to manage the DNR?
Ya, should be something asking you about the MDL service and input the account. :o
Did you update the DNR to the latest version? You might revert back to prior version and see if anything changes. I know there are some display and text issues on this latest version of FW.
-
I am using IE, the only one that has ever worked for me with dlink. So I reset the DNR but its not asking me to add it to the account for some reason. It asks the normal setup stuff, then it asks to format the harddrive, then to add cameras, then when I click next it goes to the summary where I can click finish or go to dvr
-
Ok. You can try either removing the device from the mydlink.com site then see if the account addition works. Or try installing prior working FW version. Seems very odd here. I updated to mine and all has been ok. Hmmm
-
I deleted it from mydlink.com and I reset the camera (10 seconds with a paperclip). Wouldnt resetting run it back to an old firmware?
-
UPDATE... so apparently the update you have to use with the flashdrive fixes the issue I was having, everything ran as normal, weird that the flashdrive update was the fix
-
UPDATE AGAIN :o
Sorry, I had to make that caps, didnt want you making this as solved and closing it or anything...
Ok so all is good on the phone, but firefox nor IE work with live video. Phone is most important, but I would like to be able to use web too. IE shows a tiny x in the corner of where the video would be as if a plugin isnt loading. IE always worked before though
-
Be sure to use IE11 x32 mode or use FF ESR version x32 version. The standard FF version is now blocking plug-ins.

I would check to see if Java x32 is installed as well.

Thanks that was the issue.. was using 64 bit IE11. looks like I'm all set, thanks
-
Glad it's all working. Enjoy. ;)
