I have some video files that have Japanese characters in the filename and they don't show up when I browse to the directory that they should be in. Is there any way that we could get support for other languages?

I am very sorry but this device supports English characters only.

What would it take to get support for non-English characters? I would really like to watch my videos on my tv.

Rename the files with english characters?
-
I thought about that but why? It works on all my other machines just fine. It just seems that in this day and age that we shouldn't have to worry about these things. I bet that there is an open source font that would look good on a tv screen.

I have found that the 520 doesn't like apostropies in folder names either. Seems very picky about those things. I had to remove the ' from the folders for the B52's but not the somg titles before the fresh would pass.

The DSM-520 does not support Unicode so the only Recognizable characters are English characters on files read by the DSM-520.

Same here. I have not had trouble with the apostophes in the song titles. Do not have any in folder names just song titles. I'll have to check this out.
As far as not wanting to rename files and or folders so they will work with the DSM520 all I can say is "you have to learn to live with the things you cannot rise above".

This might be a little off topic but will the DSM-750 have Unicode support?

I am very sorry but I do not have this information at this time.

Could you maybe ask an engineer or something? I bet they would know.
