DIR-824 - can't access settings page

(1/3) > >>

otronics:
Hello.

I have a primary router (Virgin Super Hub 3) and a secondary router (D-Link DIR-842).

I wish to use the DIR-842 as an access point.

I have set-up the routers as per these instructions here: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=ljdptpruieb1hgjas9n6mpgc75&topic=40856.0

Everything works except I can no longer access the DIR-842 settings page in my browser.

It is normally accessed via http://dlinkrouter.local although even typing its IP address doesn't work.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Oliver.

* What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
* Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
* What region are you located?
Look at the main host routers connected clients list as see what IP address the DIR router is getting from the main host router. Use this IP address to access the DIR web page.

Hello.

It turns out that this is a Google Chrome issue.

Error is ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

I can access the router via another browser using http://dlinkrouter.local/.

I have tried all sorts of things like flushing DNS to fix Chrome but it still doesn't work.

IE and Firefox work fine.

I still however cannot access the router via it's IP address from any browser - it only works via http://dlinkrouter.local/

Also, interestingly, when I log into the router via Firefox, it says the Internet is disconnected when clearly it is working.

Location is UK.

Chrome doesn't like http://dlinkrouter.local. for some reason.

I assume your other router is distributing DHCP OK through the D-Link router to your clients? Did you turn off DHCP on the D-Link router?

Did you change the IP of the D-Link router (LAN) to an IP on the same subnet as your primary router?

Can you ping the D-Link router IP?

Did you plug anything into the WAN port on the D-Link router?

FurryNutz:
What version of FF are you using?

Does Chrome work if you input 192.168.0.1 in to the browser?
