DPR-1061 No Printer Detected

(1/1)

rwassell:
Hi,

I wonder if anyone has encountered this situation before and if so, whether anyone has been able to resolve it.

I have a D-Link DPR-1061 Print Server.
On Port U1 is connected an HP Laserjet CP2020 this works fine.
On Port U2 was originally an HP Photosmart 4500 then an Epson SX410 both of which worked fine.
On Port U2 I have now installed an HP Officejet 8620 but PS-Wizard reports as U2 No Printer Detected
The D-Link web interface shows USB port 2 as On Line with a printer connected.
In PS-Wizard, if you continue to Add Printer and print a test page it works!

But, go into Printer Properties in Windows and ask it to print a test page, it doesn't work.

So the print server can see the printer, but it can't recognise it.
The print server can initiate a windows test page that works but try it from the printer in windows control panel and it doesn't work.

I have upgraded the print server to 1.05 build 3.

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

Rob

* What region are you located?
Did you remove  the old driver from windows and install a new driver and then point the driver to the DPR port for the new printer?
Might try swapping ports and see if the same thing happens.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Yes, as I've been through this process a few times with a number of printers, I followed that process which has worked perfectly every time.

Having tested and re-tested over the weekend, the only logical conclusion that I can come up with is that there is some kind of incompatibility with the print server and the new HP 8620 printer.

Regards,

Rob

This model printer reports that it has wired and wireless connection support. I recommend connecting the printer to your main host router using one of these supported connections instead of using the DPR for this model printer. Wired connection would be preferred.
