DWA-140 always disabled in Windows 7
« on: February 05, 2010, 08:11:59 AM »

When I plug my DWA-140 into my Windows 7 PC, it says the drivers are being installed, but then the adapter is always shown as "disabled".  Trying to enable it has no effect.  The light on the DWA does not come on.

However, if I plug the DWA into a different Windows 7 PC, it works fine!

Any ideas?  I've tried removing the driver and reinstalling, both from the DLink software, and letting Windows Update find the driver.

Hi there,
I had this problem, took some investigating. My problem was the "Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS 6 Filer" I disabled this in the device properties... in the same area where you change your TCP/IP settings.

It might be different with yours, maybe you use another Anti-Virus... but I disabled that option and mine is working.

Hope this helps!

Ah!

I'm in the office at the moment, so can't test, but I am indeed running Kaspersky, so that may well be the problem.  Thanks, I'll let you know how I get on.

Yes!  Thankyou.  That was the problem.
