Title: How to disable WPS button

How can I disable WPS button.  I want to keep kids from being able to connect to wifi by using it

Disable the WPS feature inside the router settings. See page 92 of manual  (http://www.dlink.com/-/media/Consumer_Products/DIR/DIR%20810L/Manual/DIR_810L_RevA_Manual_EN.pdf)for instructions or see this video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S7t_lh7cuE)

already tried that.  The button is check but greyed out and will not let me un-check it. Maybe  that is overriden by another setting??

Check that you have the "Visibility Status" is set to visible under wireless network settings as seen on page 43 of manual. You can turn it invisible again after disabling WPS, but I wouldn't suggest it. Also make sure the router is in router mode and not using WDS.
