Title: Is it possible to update firmware on an USB Stick (DWA-171A1) (not driver)?
Post by: muffie on October 23, 2016, 11:59:39 AM
Same computer, same OS, same drivers and etc...
This one:
S/N: S3381F4001720
Works perfectly

This one:
S/N: S3381F4000383

Does not. I always get "Limited" connection.

Just to repeat myself:
Same OS, Same Drivers, Same everything. Plugging the good one: Perfect. Plugging the bad one: Limited connection.

Any clues? Is it possible to update the firmware on it?

The unit that says "limited connection" maybe faulty. There is no FW for DWA units. Only Drivers.

Any ideas how long is the warranty for those items? Problem is, I probably thrown away the invoice...

BTW, the problem occurs when connecting to an 868L with crappy firmware 2.0. Apparently the stick can connect to a different router that's being served by a Linksys with DD-WRT.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
