DCS-932L crash every day
« on: February 29, 2012, 03:22:49 AM »

Hello,

I have bought 2x DCS-932L. Every day, theses cameras freezes : the led is green, but the camera does not responding to ping. This problem appears on the two cameras.

On the network, i have a DCS-2121, this camera runs 24/24-7/7 without problem. Only theses 932L does not run more than 24/48h...

I updated 932L with the latest firmware.

Thanks you for your help :)

I just seen a thing very interesting : when the camera seems to be "crashed", my WiFi network works very bad, for example my iPad and my netbook lost the wifi signal of my router by time and the network rate is very slow. I have just disconnected the power of the 932L and the entire network go up.

It seems the 932L flood my network.

Do you have a idea ?

My router is a "LIVEBOX 2", it's a box of my french ADSL operator.

Furthermore, the 932L try to open uPNP port on my box. I deactivated the uPNP on the 932L, but the camera continue to send uPNP packet...

Hi hsdino,

I have a similar problem with my 2 DCS-932L. I have a "Livebox 2" as modem router like you.
My cameras don't stop disconnecting and reconnecting. I tried to reset them, but problem is still the same.
(See problem here : http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=46505.0)

Since 3 days, in addition to this problem. I can't connect to my wireless network with my iphone or PC.
In Win7, I have already "Public Network - could not established a connection to Internet".
I should restard my box.

The cameras are not expensives, but Perhaps D-Link sell the cameras by pack to dicrease their stock because of problems. They will dicrease their number of customers.
I'm very disappointed by this product.

If we have the same problem with the same router, the problem is probably here.

No I don't think.
Because I tried another solution :
Livebox DMZ -> D-Link DI524UP -> Local Network
With my cameras connected to DI524UP. The problem was the same.

I have an HedenCam (first price of IP Camera), and in 2 years I had no problem with it...

Hi all,

I tried since 15 minutes to connect my 2 DCS-932L by wired.
It looks good for the moment. I will wait again...
Problem looks come from the wireless connection...

hsdino, Did you try with Ethernet cable ?

Yes, i tried but after few hours my other Dlink Camera DCS-2121 will not responding. When i disconnect the ethernet cable of the 932L, the DCS-2121 has worked again.

I tried to disable the WiFi of the livebox 2 and use the DLINK DAP-1360 has WiFi access point connected with cable directly to the livebox 2 (for sharing ADSL). After few hours, the 932L goes down (in WiFi mode).

I think the 932L flood the network...

PS : I discover that the WiFi of the DAP-1360 is more powerfull of the Livebox WiFi. I can share the WiFi on all levels of my house only with the DAP-1360. With the livebox WiFi i need a repeater of each level of my house.

I have replaced my Livebox by a DGN3500 during tests.

Since yesterday I tried to connect JUST 1 camera by wired. It is ok.
And since this morning, I tried by wireless 1 camera, it is ok too.

Tonight, I will try to add the second camera.

Hi,
Try to disable upnp on you modem/router (not on your DCS-932L) because there is a bug in the firmware: Disabling upnp on the camera web interface does not work: I spent hours to figure that it was the cause of lot of conflicts with another application using the same tcp ports on my router (80 and 443).

Adding DCS-942L to this thread.  I had the same problem and the same solution appears to have fixed my issue.
