DNS 320 lan trouble
« on: April 26, 2018, 04:12:06 AM »

Hello everyone.
I have been using D-Link DNS 320 for some time now with no problem. But since I moved it last time on to the new office(without changing anything in network configuration). Something happened and I cant access it no more.
Device is configured to be on 192.168.0.101. And usually when i ping it it always responded. Web page loaded with login interface.
Now when i plug it in network(on switch). Light on LAN connector turns on, then in a 5 to 8 seconds it goes off, and device cant be seen on the router or even when i plug it directly to my computer(that have configured adapter to work with) it shows network cable unplugged.  I tired several different brand cables with it. But with the same result.
Both hard drives are blinking(there is that acoustic sound of hard disks spinning ), the process of booting up is looking good. But Ethernet port blinks only during first 5 or so seconds after pressing the power button
It wont initialize network at all.
Do you have any idea what might be wrong with this device?

I thank you all in advance!!!

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?

Is this new office just a new room location in your home or new remote location?

Log into the router while the DNS is connected to the router and look at the connected clients list to see if it's listed there. If you didn't set an IP address on the router for the DNS, it might have changed to something new. Set a IP address reservation ON the router for the DNS.
