You can try this updated:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62516.0

Please do a factory reset, load the file, factory reset once more then setup from scratch. Use IE or FF and disable all PC security software temporarily while you update the FW.

Firmware 1.02
Region: US

I do not see the version 1.03 available on the dlink website.  On the router
Current Firmware Version:   1.02, Tue 11 Nov 2014
Current Firmware Date:   2014-11-11 14:04:00

Clicking check for new version says I'm on the latest release.  The date above matches the version 1.02.B13 on the dlink website.

A factory reset has not been preformed
A factor reset was not performed before and after any firmware updates
The router has never worked properly.

I upgraded to 1.4 yesterday, did the factory reset before and after.  Likely to be about 30 days before it starts dropping connections, I'll be back if it starts happening again.

20-25 days for me and then it starts dropping devices on wifi.
On LAN everything works fine, no drops.

1.04WW

I've rebooted it 4 days ago, and tonight I couldn't keep a stable wifi connection with two phones, both on the 2.4 Ghz network. The 5GHz network seems to work fine during all this, but with limited signal strength, so this one is not an option for every device. After another reboot, everything is ok. I think I am going back to 1.03, although I think somehow the WIFI signal is stronger with 1.04 (my personal opinion).

Have you tried v1.05?

Any other wifi neighbors around you?  ???

I haven't tried 1.05 as it is not available for EU users (i'm in Romania).

There are no neighbours close enough for me to interfere. Heck, there is not enough wifi signal in my house even from my router :))

With 1.04 I've noticed stronger signal on my phone when I have 1-2 lines upstairs. With 1.03, whenever I have one line I switch to mobile data, as the wifi is useless (concrete house, old problem), but with 1.04 I can use the wifi network somehow, and this is not the placebo effect, even if this improvement is not mentioned in the release notes.

Sorry for the late response, I forgot to click Notify.

You can load v1.05 as its a WW (worldwide) release.

Concrete building will impact wireless performance and signal range.

To my shame, I did not know what WW stood for. I will try it when I get a chance, I have nothing to lose :-)

I know about concrete and signal range and I will buy two repeaters, one for upstairs and another one for the garden.

But I would like to know that I can leave my router on forever and it works :-)

I recommend getting a wired AP instead of repeating. I don't think repeating will benefit your needs. You need to add additional signal to where your need it, not repeat thru concrete. You need to place signal where it's needed.

Keep us posted. D-Link is working on the QoS problem that was found.

Yes, I am thinking of wired repeaters, as I have some UTP cables put through the walls. If any of those wires fail to work, I will be looking at some powerline adapters, I know a friend who uses some noname ones and they work ok.

I did not have time to come here and reply, but before the end of october I started to lose the WiFi signal with my phone. It was connecting, waiting 3 seconds, disconnecting, connecting an so on. I tried the 5GHz connection, it was working there but the signal was fluctuating a lot.
I rebooted the router from the web interface, and the same thing was happening. So I unplugged it, waited 5 seconds then plugged it back in. No problems so far.
So the problem still exists, after more 30-45 days it needs a "hard" reset...

Is the phone the only device that looses the connection or do other devices as well?

This time I tried with my phone only. But last time every device (another phone and a laptop) was struggling to maintain a connection.

I will try again with every other device in the house the next time it happens. I havr nothing else to lose :p
