Title: Pprob with utorrent and tcp connections
Post by: tdr on February 24, 2013, 09:31:29 AM
hello

i got a dir-655 (FW 1.35EU,  2011/01/04). everything work fine and smoothly, as sonn as i open up a bittorrent client and start to download with it.  after 20-30 seconds, other currently open tcp connections start to drop. like downloads with browsers, webradio streams, youtube videos. basically it seems to affect everything over tcp. stateful packet inspection is active (tcp).  as soon as i close the bittorrent client, all other application work nicely again, without any nasty connection drops.

is there a shortage on ram inside the router?  ...  or any there's a workaround/ idea, maybe?

Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
Has a Factory Reset been performed?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Is most cases you need to lower the connections that your Torrent program is using. First test with downloading and seeding 3 or 4 only. Then graduate and find where the router is stopping or exhibiting the problem. Moderate your downloads and seeds. Routers can only handle so much connection traffic.
