QoS Problems after Firmware update to 1.05WW
« on: January 06, 2016, 02:52:46 PM »

DIR-880L .... Just did a firmware update to 1.05WW.  In previous firmware,  had network access for various devices prioritized via QoS.   After update,  there is no change to how devices are prioritized ... however,  there are now Mbps values automatically populated in upload and download fields.   These fields and values did not exist in the previous firmware.  I did not set these values either,  the firmware set the values at uplink 2 and downlink 8.    The result is that my internet speed is being capped at 2 Mbps up and 8 Mbps down .... but my service is 5 up and 50 down.   Any attempts I make to change ANY settings in QoS are totally rebuffed.   Making any changes in QoS and hitting "Save" simply defaults right back to the current settings.

What's going on here?

How can I make changes in QoS to solve my problems?

Thank you for the response.

I have no idea what "region" I am in.

I don't understand these instructions for the QoS issue .... 2. QoS won't accept any input values or priority settings after a period of time. Can make configuration changes after doing a factory reset, use the set up wizard, then go directly to QOS and set up ISP values.

"after a period of time"  ????   My period of time was immediately.   Yes,  immediately after a reboot of my router upon doing the firmware update,  I entered QoS and noticed the new fields for uplink and downlink speeds.  I immediately ran a speed test and noticed that I was being capped at the values that the firmware entered into those fields ... 2/8 Mbps.   I immediately attempted to change those values to 5/50.    Would not save,  defaulted back to 2/8.

So,  you are suggesting a factory reset .... use setup wizard,  then go directly to QoS?    If I am recalling correctly,  a factory reset will take me back to the previous firmware version,  yes?  In that version,  there are no uplink and downlink fields to be set in QoS.   So, in essence,  QoS is totally worthless in the new firmware version.   Even worse,  it likely winds up being populated with values in the uplink and downlink fields that severely restrict your internet speeds.  Yes?

What country are you located?

Yes factory reset and then walk thru the set up wizard, right after it's completed, go in and set QoS settings. I recommend leaving it default for now until D-Link releases a fix.

Doing a factory reset will not revert back to prior FW version.

OK.   Thank you for the help.   Factory reset appears to have solved the issue.  Painful and time consuming,  but solved.   Did not take me back to previous firmware.   This time,  does populate the uplink and downlink fields with 300/300.   Not going to touch it.
