DNS-321 - Need some help
« on: November 21, 2019, 08:58:12 AM »

hi all,
i'm in desperate need of help.  i have no idea how to access the files on my DNS321 as its been sitting idle and unplugged for years.  it appears on the windows network...i downloaded the easy share utility...tried mapping one of the drives and it won't let me map it.   i just want to download the files off of the drives on the dlink and throw them up in the cloud.

is there a way to access the files without mapping the drive (assuming i can't get that done).

thanks in advance...i'm sorta computer savy...but i can't figure this out.

Can you access the DNS's web page first off.

How are you mapping the drives? IT should be in the format of \\IPaddressofDNS\volume_1 or volume_2 if there are two separate drives that are not in a RAID configuration.

Do you remember the configuration of the drives? RAID or Standard Formatting?

Also, What OS platform on your PC are you using? Windows 10 by chance?

Instead of using the easy share utility which may no longer work, try mapping to the volume as mentioned in Windows 10 Explorer.

Also you may need to enable SMBv1 in Windows 10 before trying to map:
